The Owens Family

Making Memories and Having Fun

We are like most families and we try to make the little things seem special.  As much as we love friends and our hobbies, we carve out most of our time for our family. One little way that we spend time together is by having a family dinner every night.  Sometimes we pick a book and we read out loud together or on drives.  We have bookshelves lined with books in our home.

Friday Night Football game
Jake and I like to be outside and active.  We both grew up with horses in our life, and we still like to get a horse ride in occasionally.  While Jake was in high school he was on the State Champion Wrestling Team and he was heavily involved with football. Now he works in a career that allows him to hike, explore, and improve landscapes.  Janalyn started dance lessons at the age of 6, and continued into college. She enjoys Pilates and has experience teaching Pilates and ballet.
A movie after trick or treating
We sometimes have a special night out when our family goes to a movie or eats out at a restaurant.  Our family has a sweet tooth, and Janalyn is happy to oblige by baking treats like three layer cheesecake, brownies, and her famous cookies. Our daughter might be the most photographed child that we know.  We are big picture takers and we journal all about the milestones of her life. As an added bonus for us, Jake’s work allows him to travel a little, so we tag along and have visited places like Capitol Reef National Park, Denver, Colorado, and Albuquerque,New Mexico.
